A bit more tasteful after all the Christmas kitsch: ruffly nails in blue, purple, green and gold.
To get this effect you need five polishes which are opaque in one coat: I used Urban Outfitters Crowded (the lilac), Topshop Pool Party (the teal), Nails Inc Belgrave Place (the purple) and Lanesborough Place (the gold), and Miss Sporty #320 (the blue). Paint your nails in the palest colour as a base (I picked the lilac) and then using a big dotting tool, make connected rows of dots across your nail, working your way up from base to tip and overlapping the rows as you go. It takes a while but I think it looks lovely!
